1. Acceptance
By using LevyReady Report you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. What LevyReady does
LevyReady Report is an audit and verification tool for the Edinburgh Visitor Levy. It reads your booking export, applies Edinburgh City Council's published levy rules, flags discrepancies, and produces formatted documents. It does not file returns on your behalf and does not transmit returns to any council. Some features are AI-assisted — identifying which columns in your file are which (only when on-device detection is uncertain) and drafting an optional summary of findings. AI output is assistive only and may be imperfect; the levy figures themselves are computed by deterministic, rule-based code, not by AI.
3. Not professional advice
LevyReady provides software, not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and using it does not create a professional-adviser relationship. For advice on your specific circumstances, consult a qualified accountant or solicitor.
4. Operator responsibility
You remain solely and legally responsible for the accuracy and completeness of every levy return you submit to Edinburgh City Council. Our calculations apply published rules as understood at the time of the software's last update; rules and interpretations may change. You must review and confirm every figure before submitting. The report is generated only after you have reviewed and confirmed it.
5. Your data & privacy
You are the data controller of any guest/booking data you process using the tool; that data is processed only within your browser and is not received by us (see our Privacy Policy). You confirm you have the right to process that data and will comply with applicable data-protection law in doing so.
6. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, that it is error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. AI-assisted features (column detection and the optional summary) may produce errors or omissions; you must review their output, and every figure, before relying on it. We recommend first-time users review the output with a qualified accountant.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data or anticipated savings;
- we accept no liability for penalties, interest, underpayments, overpayments or enforcement action arising from returns prepared using the tool; and
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Hotel F&B Ltd (trading as LevyReady) against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or your breach of applicable law (including data-protection law) in connection with your use of the service.
9. Payment & refunds
Subscriptions are charged at the rate shown at checkout via Stripe; prices include VAT where applicable. Because reports are generated and delivered instantly, we do not offer refunds once a report has been generated, except where required by law. If a technical fault prevents report generation, contact us within 48 hours for a credit. You may cancel a subscription at any time; it remains active until the end of the current billing period.
10. Acceptable use
You may not use LevyReady to process data you have no right to process, reverse-engineer or attempt to compromise the service, or access it by automated means at scale without our written consent.
11. Changes, governing law & severability
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to registered users by email, and continued use constitutes acceptance. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. These terms are governed by Scots law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
